With its various players, Logelloop’s modular looper allows you to play your loops in several different ways. To change the player, click on the tape reel icon as shown below.
The Tape mode allows forward or reverse playback at fixed or variable speeds, which you can set in decimal values or semitones. In this playback mode, the pitch changes depending on the speed.
With Pitch mode, you can vary the pitch in semitones using decimal values without affecting the playback speed. In this mode, it is also possible to change the playback speed in the same way as in Tape mode. The processing time required for pitch processing is compensated for so that no latency is introduced.
In Time Stretch mode, you can stretch or compress the loop. The playback speed changes without affecting the pitch. The setting is made using decimal values. 1 is corresponding to the normal speed playback, 0.5 doubles the length of the loop, and 2 plays the loop at half speed. The speed can be correlated to the metronome tempo variation using a script.
In Extreme Time Stretch mode, playback is similar to granular synthesis. It is possible to stretch the loop to the extreme without changing the pitch of the sound, taking you right to the heart of the sound material. In this mode, it is also possible to use Freeze to lock playback on a portion of the loop.
You can also apply a pitch independently to the playback speed, ranging from -48 to +48 semitones.
The Crossfade mode uses the same playback core as the Tape mode, except that it applies a crossfade to the loop point to make it as unnoticeable as possible. This mode is suitable when you want to create drones, but it is not suitable when you want your loops to remain synchronised.
